Watch the Rainbows for Two Minutes (Do Nothing Else)

Sometimes the best exercise is literally sitting down and staring at sparkles. No multitasking. No scrolling. Just light.

TL;DR:
This creative exercise uses your suncatcher as a mindfulness anchor. Watch the rainbows for two minutes and let your body practice staying put. Don’t have a suncatcher? Find a shadow. Or a glimmer. Or put a bowl of water in a spot where the sun reflects off of it.

Steps:

  1. Sit where the rainbows/shadows/sparkles land.

  2. Put your phone down.

  3. Watch the colors and light shift for two minutes.

  4. Breathe.

  5. That’s the whole exercise.

I used to think mindfulness meant hour-long meditations. Turns out, tiny moments like this over time are just as effective (if not more.)
